The Biotel Process

By improving an established Autogenous Thermophilic Aerobic Digestion (ATAD) technology, the Biotel process is a unique proprietary, stable, versatile and environmentally sound way of managing any mix of organic or food wastes, including Category 3 ABP.

Following an initial characterisation study, contaminants are removed from the raw
material and the material is macerated to reduce the particle size.

The material is fed into the digester system. Mixers and aerators within the bio-reactor vessels encourage the rapid growth of micro-organisms. The biotel state of the art microbial reactor technology converts the organic residue materials to single cell proteins and thermophilic bacteria consume organic matter in the slurry, generating heat.

This combination of high temperature (over 75°C) and bacterial digestion activity kills all pathogens to meet UK, EC and US Animal By Product Regulations, whilst maintaining existing soil nutrients within the material.

The end products are available in liquid or solid form and can be applied to agricultural land using commercially available spreaders and sprayers. The products are effective in rebuilding damaged, depleted soils and improving soil fertility, resulting in increased crop yields and the cultivation of healthy, nutrient rich plants.
